Electrical Energy Generation, Transmission and Distribution Program

The Electrical Energy Production, Transmission, and Distribution program started education under the ELECTRICITY and ENERGY Department in our Vocational School in the 2012-2013 academic year. The program provides courses in basic sciences as well as relevant knowledge and skills in technical areas specific to the field of electricity; It is a four-semester higher education program that provides theoretical and practical education to train energy technicians to meet the need for equipped intermediate staff of the future in conventional or renewable energy facilities. In the program, which has a two-year education period, all theoretical courses are carried out in our school, and most of the practices are carried out at İÇDAŞ Steel Energy Shipyard and Transportation Industry Inc. and Biga Switchgear Facility. Currently, there is only formal education. The language of education is Turkish.

Vision of the Electrical Energy Production; Transmission and Distribution Program; To become most preferred in Türkiye Energy Production, Transmission and Distribution associate degree Program that has reached international recognition.

 Mission of Electrical Energy Production, Transmission, and Distribution Program; To train quality human resources for the qualified intermediate staff needs of the industry, private sector, and public by using contemporary teaching techniques with a research academic staff approach to reach the level of contemporary manners and technological knowledge required by Industry 4.0.

The main objectives that constitute the vision and mission of our program are as follows:

Aim of Program

It is aimed that the graduates of the program, as a trained workforce potential, follow the current developments in the national and international platforms related to the sector in which they will work, have high communication skills, have full self-confidence, serve as entrepreneurs, innovative and experts in their field.

In our Vocational School, the Electrical Energy Production, Transmission, and Distribution Program is affiliated with the Department of Electricity and Energy. The program, which was opened for the first time in the 2012-2013 academic year, started education by accepting students from the ÖSYM Exam type and vertical transfer. Electrical Energy Production, Transmission, and Distribution Program has started to accept students with YGS-1 (NUMERIC) score type for the 2017-2018 academic year, according to the ÖSYM examination regulations. Students enrolled in the program must complete all courses of 120 ECTS/ECTS in the prescribed curriculum and complete 30 working days of industrial training internship to graduate from the program. The department attaches utmost importance to the follow-up and sustainability of internships, and a follow-up letter is requested from the institution where the student interned 15 days after starting the internship.

Degree Earned

Students who successfully complete this program are entitled to receive the Energy Technician associate degree diploma.

Students who successfully complete the Electrical Energy Generation, Transmission, and Distribution program will have the following knowledge, skills, and competencies.

  • Mastering the terminology related to the profession,
  • Drawing using CAD Program,
  • Ability to use basic office programs and professional programs,
  • Mastering basic Electricity and Energy concepts and terms,
  • Students should demonstrate appropriate behavior in professional life by knowing the rules of social behavior, courtesy, etiquette, and protocol, and develop organizational skills,
  • Having and applying basic knowledge about occupational safety, worker health, work accidents, and first aid,
  • Having the skills necessary for professional life and using these skills in the work environment,

  • Knowing alternative energy sources and fossil fuels.
  • Knowing the production, transmission, and distribution of electrical energy.
  • Knowing conventional and renewable energy production facilities.

Sections with Vertical Transfer:

Graduates of the Electrical Energy Production, Transmission, and Distribution program have the right to continue an undergraduate program related to their field of graduation if they are successful in the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) conducted by ÖSYM.

Occupational Profile of Graduates

Graduates of the Electrical Energy Production, Transmission, and Distribution Program primarily work in conventional and renewable energy production plants, transmission and distribution switchgear facilities; They can open their workplaces or work in the electrical, electronics, and communications departments of public institutions such as EIE, TEIAS, EUAS, TEDAS, or private workplaces, or after meeting the legal conditions.
