The program, which was opened in Biga Vocational School in the 2005-2006 academic year under Machinery and Metal Technologies Department and accepts students through the Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS) and horizontal transfer from other universities. Our program is a four-semester higher education program that provides theoretical and practical education, in which courses specific to the field of machinery are given as well as courses on basic sciences, in order to train well-equipped mechanical technicians with technical skills. As of the 2017-2018 academic year, according to the OSYM examination regulations, the Basic Proficiency (TYT) score is the required score type for students to choose our program. Students enrolled in the program must complete all courses in the prescribed curriculum, totaling 120 ECTS, and complete 30 working days of industrial training internships in order to graduate from the program. An average of 50 students enroll in the program every year. The language of instruction of the program is Turkish.
Machinery Program students can complete their education in relevant sectoral institutions and organizations by taking the Workplace Application Training course, which is added as an elective course to the fourth semester of the training programs. The basic principles, rules and methods regarding the conduct and evaluation of the Workplace Practice Training course for the purpose of on-the-job training, preparation for the profession, increasing the knowledge and skills required by the profession and developing professional skills are carried out in accordance with the Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Vocational Schools Workplace Practice Training Directive.

Mechanical Technicians:
One of the most important factors for the development of the industry is the presence of qualified employees. Mechanical technician is a professional group that is at the center of production in many different fields, from automotive to agricultural machinery, from the iron and steel industry to the defense industry. Producing machines, producing machines that produce machines, producing and operating their components, and obtaining products are the definition of the profession of mechanical technician. Additionally, considering special areas such as materials, special manufacturing processes, and obtaining qualified products, mechanical technician has always been a profession with a high employment gap.
It is aimed that the graduates of the program, as a trained workforce potential, follow the current developments in the national and international platforms related to the sector in which they will work, have high communication skills, have full self-confidence, serve as entrepreneurs, innovative and experts in their field. Accordingly, the qualifications of our graduates enable them to become sought-after technicians in all branches of industry.

Degree Earned After Graduation:
Students who successfully complete this program are entitled to receive the Mechanical Technician Associate Degree Diploma.

• Will be able to perform design, modeling, simulation and production related operations with CAD-CAM programs, model with reverse engineering software, use CNC machines, create the program and gain the ability to manufacture and produce on CNC machines,

• Will be able to recognize machines, machine elements and their features belonging to different sectors, and will be able to make strength calculations and dimensioning of simple apparatus-mechanisms-molds with mathematical formulas,

• Will be able to know different teaching methods and techniques that can be used in the learning and teaching process,
• Will be able to have a sufficient level of foreign language knowledge in the field and gain the necessary infrastructure to develop it.
Sections with Vertical Transfer:
Our students who graduate from our program, where education lasts 2 years (4 semesters), receive an associate degree. At the end of this period, our successful students who wish can take the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) conducted by ÖSYM, and if they are successful, they have the right to continue their education by transferring to an undergraduate program related to their graduation field.
