The electricity program, which was opened to education in the 1990-1991 academic year in our Vocational School, started education by taking students from OSYM Exam type and vertical transition. As of the 2017-2018 academic year, the program has started to take students from YGS-1 (NUMERICAL) score type according to ÖSYM exam regulations. The program is a four-semester higher education program that provides theoretical and practical education to train electrical technicians to meet the need for well-equipped intermediate staff who have the knowledge and skills in technical fields specific to the field of electricity as well as courses in basic sciences. In the program, which has a two-year education period, all the theoretical courses are carried out in our school and most of the applications are carried out in İÇDAŞ Steel Energy Shipyard and Transportation Industry Inc. and Biga Switchgear Plant. To graduate from the program, students enrolled in the program must complete all the courses in the curriculum with a total of 120 ECTS/ECTS and complete 30 working days of industrial training internship. An average of 40 students are enrolled in the program each year and the language of instruction is Turkish.
Electricity program students can complete their education in the relevant sectoral institutions and organizations by taking the Workplace Practice Training course, which has been added to the fourth semester of the education program to be effective from the 2019-2020 academic year and must be selected by the students as an elective course. On-the-job training, preparation for the profession, knowledge, and skills required by the profession.

Program Purpose
The main purpose of this program is to train qualified, knowledgeable, and creative human resources who will be able to do electrical work in enterprises and factories, as well as electrical work in the businesses and workshops they open in their names, and to ensure their relations with the internal and external environment. In addition, it is aimed to train contemporary practitioners who can take part in all stages from plan to implementation, who can carry out theoretical knowledge and practice together, who have gained research skills, and who understand the economic, ethical, and legal aspects of the profession.

The Electricity program, which operates as primary and secondary education in our Vocational School, is affiliated with the Department of Electricity and Energy. The Department of Electricity, which was opened for the first time in the 1990-1991 academic year, started education by accepting students from the OSYM Exam Science score type and vertical transfer. Electrical Program started to accept students with YGS-1 (NUMERIC) score type in the 2017-2018 academic year, according to OSYM examination regulations. Students enrolled in the electrical program must take all courses of 120 ECTS/ECTS in the prescribed curriculum to graduate from the program. Our students are required to complete an internship for 30 working days before graduating. The department attaches utmost importance to the follow-up and sustainability of internships, and a follow-up letter is requested from the institution where the student interned 15 days after starting the internship. Students submit their internship submission files in the next academic semester when their course selection is made.

Graduates of the Electricity program can work in public institutions, private workplaces, and non-governmental organizations or open their workplaces after meeting the legal requirements. Students who have completed our Electricity Program can obtain various job opportunities in the electricity, electronics, and communication sector, national and multinational companies; public institutions such as EIE, TEIAS, EUAS, TEDAS, radio and TV broadcasting organizations, internet services related organizations and technical promotion units in project drawing, research and development (R&D), production and marketing (salesperson) departments in the health sector.
